For decades Fred Franz was the guru of the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society. He was obsessed with "Biblical Prophecy" trying to explain the book of Daniel and Revelation. Who took over after he stopped writing and who is considered the authority on the JWs teaching today especially the so called "prophetic interpretation?"

Sorry I have to ask, but, what exactly does a special pioneer do?
by dgp inyep, i'm the worldly who needs explanations about simple things.
i will appreciate it if someone told me what exactly a special pioneer does, and what a person gets out of being one, in terms of watchtower politics.. thanks..

The difference between a regular pioneer and a special pioneer is that instead of you apply you are appointed directly by the branch office. The hourly quota was 140 hours a month and you report directly to the branch office. You are given a monthly allowance (hardly enough to survive) if you would like to do a part time job you would need approval by the branch office. You are entitled for 30 days leave per year. If you do not reach the monthly quota you have to give an explanation why.

Translation in English:
A Jehovah's Witness distributes "Watchtower" and "Awake" Photo: horns
Stuttgart - With its magazines "Watchtower" and "Awake," Jehovah's Witnesses proselytize in residential areas and pedestrian zones. But the policy of the country so far they could not convince.
Until further, the Jehovah's Witnesses in Baden-Wuerttemberg are not equated with the Christian churches. The CDU-FDP government in Stuttgart, as our newspaper was told on Wednesday, now definitely decided to refuse the required state approval to the controversial religious community. "The Cabinet has decided to reject the request of the Jehovah's Witnesses to grant them the corporate rights," said a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Culture, on request of our newspaper. "We are in the process to work out the decision of refusing in close coordination with the Ministry of Justice, and that subsequently will be served on the Jehovah's Witnesses."
The relevant Cabinet decision, dated 20 December, is so far not been made public.
It is expected that the faith community that claims to have 28 000 members in Baden-Württemberg, will take action against the decision. The last word should then have the Administrative Court (VGH) in Mannheim. The state government justified its rejection by doubts about the loyalty of the faith community. Jehovah's Witnesses are known to be skeptical or even hostile to the state; therefore they should not take part in elections. Furthermore, even family members should break the contact with apostates, by which the country, according to a report by the Justice Department, sees adversely affected „the fundamental right of respect for family life and marriage" and the basic right of religious freedom. Moreover, the religious community, by their refusal of blood transfusions, risks "life and limb of minor children and young people."
Is the faith community a corporation under public law?
A recognition as a corporation under public law would have the advantage for the Jehovah's Witnesses that they would pay less taxes and administrative fees. In addition, they would then be partially out of state control, they even could impose a church tax and would, as the Protestant and Catholic Church, have the right to sit on the boards of public service broadcasting.
The expected lawsuit in Baden-Württemberg should get its attention in whole Germany. In 12 of the 16 states, the Jehovah's Witnesses at their request have now been legally upgraded, because despite concerns they saw no other way. The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Education wanted to join the fact, but met widespread opposition in Parliament. Also, Rhineland-Palatinate, Bremen and North Rhine-Westphalia yet refuse recognition.
Those countries that capitulated referred above all to a supposedly ground-breaking decision of the Berlin Higher Administrative Court that awarded the Jehovah's Witnesses in 2006 after almost 15 years of litigation the status of a corporation under public law. According to the state government in Stuttgart, Berlin judges have only inadequately lit the inner life of the community. They waived to interview dropouts. The Justice Ministry in Stuttgart however has done this, when compiling its report.
If the Administrative Court (VGH) in Mannheim reaches a different verdict than the colleagues in Berlin, the Jehovah's Witnesses probably would be deprived of their status in most states again. Up to a verdict, however, its is expected to again take years. -

Mr Elpiro,
You are contradicting yourself. As a "Happy" witness what are you doing on this forum? Is it ok for you to chat with ex-witnesses? Will you talk to us in front of your elders? Or you will shun us? When I was an elder we had situations of individuals like "you" stating that they are of the "annointed". I can tell you something that the majority of elders that I knew did not take seriously this claim. Infact some were even held from certain positions.
If you believe that the "Governing Body" are "gods modern representatives" on this "earth" you should adhere to what they are instructing you to do. The fact that you are not listening to what they are telling you seems that you are not in full agreement with what they are saying and this clearly shows that you are not a happy JWs.
Its better to clear your thinking first before writing up this non sense. Some of us took years before we came to a conclusion this was done through alot of reading and research.
I dont think that you have ever served as an elder and this say alot.

Thanks Gayle for sharing the report with us.
The main increase is in countries that the level of education is very low.
The first country that is mentioned is Malta -3%. Exposing the so called "Zone Visit" of the 5th President of the WT Society Mr. Milton Henschel in this country left an impact on many individual. This person along with the Italian Branch Co-ordinator Mr. Walter Farnetti together with their wives were staying in a luxury 5 star hotel. In the morning instead of joining the rest of the publishers they were visiting historical places. Later in the afternoon meeting the Pioneer's and Elders and in the evening giving the repetitive talk "Remember Your God in Your Youth."
Seeing the hypocrisy many stopped attending and others just stopped being active members. The majority of the 2nd generation when they reach 16 they stop attending meetings. Internet and sites like these are opening the eyes of open minded members.

Ireland orders transfusion for baby of Jehovah’s Witnesses
National Post Staff January 13, 2011 – 2:05 pm
By Lauren Strapagiel
An Irish court has ordered a life-saving blood transfusion for the infant of a Jehovah’s Witness couple, RTÉ reports.
The couple’s baby boy came down with bronchitis on Dec. 25 and was placed in hospital the following day. The boy was suffering from low hemoglobin levels which restricts oxygen flow to the organs.
The usual procedure in this situation is a blood transfusion, however Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that according to the Bible they should not ingest blood, including transfusions.
Doctors decided the only way to save the boy was by transfusion and when the parents refused they sought and received a court order.
According to RTÉ, the judge in the case decided the courts had the right to order the transfusions, despite the parents’ religious beliefs, because the child’s life was in danger. The written judgment was published Wednesday.
In January 2007, the British Columbia government sparked a debate over religious rights when it seized sextuplets from a Vancouver-area Jehovah’s Witness family after the parents had refused blood transfusions for the premature babies.
Transfusions were given against the wishes of the parents with the B.C. Supreme Court later ruling that the parents’ rights were not violated.
